Faith
Here is the life of prayer, when in or with the Spirit, a man being made sensible of sin, and how to come to the Lord for mercy; he comes, I say, in the strength of the Spirit, and crieth Father. That one word spoken in faith, is better than a thousand prayers, as men call them, written and read, in a formal, cold, lukewarm way.

Synopsis
"Randolph Tasker's work on the Gospel of John is a contribution to the Tyndale New Testament Commentaries, a popular study aid designed to help the general Bible reader understand clearly what the text actually says and what it means without going into scholarly technicalities. These commentaries are primarily exegetical and only secondarily homiletic, though it is hoped that both students and preacher will find them informative and suggestive. Critical questions are fully considered in introductory sections, and also at the author's discretion in additional notes. There are many signs today of a renewed interest in what the Bible has to say and of a more geneeral desire to understand its meaning as fully and clearly as possible. It is the hope of all those concerned with this series that God will graciously use what they have written to further this end. "
